The Museum of the Aleutians shall collect, preserve, and share the human history of Unalaska and the Aleutian Islands Region by accomplishing the following:
*Promoting public awareness of rich cultural legacy of the people of the Aleutian Islands;
*Utilizing its collections for educational purposes through exhibits, publications, and research;
*Facilitating cooperation with other museums and institutions for research and education.
Community Outreach
Our educational outreach programs pursue the Museum’s mission to educate people of all ages about the history and culture of the Aleutian Islands region. Activities include programs and services to the public through our collections and exhibits. Some of the most common educational and community outreach programs are exhibits, guided tours, field trips, lectures, publications, acquisitions, membership services, newsletters, website, other special events. The Museum has established a strong partnership with the UAF Marine Advisory Program to inform and educate the community on the issues of marine biology and its impact on the fishing industry.

Tax Deductible Organization
The Museum of the Aleutians is a private, nonprofit corporation exempt from Federal Income Tax under 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3).
As a result of this determination, donations, in-kind services, and Museum memberships are US tax-deductible.
