Mark your calendar for Alaska Flag Day — Wednesday, July 9. The Museum of the Aleutians will have free admission between 11 am and 4 pm. 13-year-old Benny Benson, who lived in Unalaska before relocating to Seward, designed the Alaska flag in 1927, and his eight golden stars still fly over every corner of the state today.
