ABOUT UNALASKA

Unalaska is the largest city in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. Located on Unalaska and neighboring Amaknak Islands, the city is home to 4,376 permanent residents and around 4,000 more seasonal residents who come to the Aleutians to work on fishing boats or in processing plants. The city is also home to a diverse community of outdoors-men and craftsmen from all over the world. 

The Museum of the Aleutians is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations, in-kind services, and Museum memberships are US tax-deductible.

PLANNING YOUR VISIT                              

Unalaska can be visited by plane or by ferry. RavnAir flies from Anchorage to Dutch Harbor (the name of our airport) daily (weather depending). In addition, smaller chartered planes will travel between the various islands on the chain and do land in Dutch Harbor. The Tustamena Ferry runs from May-October bringing visitors on a scenic tour through the Aleutian Islands. 

CRUISE SHIP AND FERRY HOURS

The Museum of the Aleutians will be open for all visiting cruise ships our hours vary to accommodate port calls for each ship. On days when the Tustamena is in port, the museum will open at 10am. For specific hours, pricing, or general questions call 907-581-5150.
