The Museum of the Aleutians offers onsite and in-classroom lessons for students of all ages on a variety of subjects from archaeology to natural history. Explore below to find out what experience is best for yourself, your family, or your classroom. Our educational outreach programs pursue the Museum’s mission to educate people of all ages about the history and culture of the Aleutian Islands region.

The museum offers guided tours and lessons to students of all ages. Subjects include Archaeology, Anthropology, Ethnography, Hunting and Fishing, and Local Art. The museum is also working to provide lessons for teachers to use in their classrooms as well as artifacts from our teaching collections that can be checked out from the museum. Check this section soon, as we will update it with offerings. 

Guided and self-guided School tours

The museum offers guided tours and lessons for students of all ages.

Prices: Guided Tours are free for local classes and $5 per person for schools visiting the island, unguided entry to the museum is free.

Tours are limited to 20 students and 5 chaperones. Please call 907-581-5157 to schedule your visit.
